Substack Notes And Why You Should Care
So I am assuming that today between your Best Buy , Home Depot, and Costco emails you got one from Substack introducing you to Substack notes. I believe today is the first day it is open to everyone to use. And you might be wondering what it is. Well, it is just the best possible thing for anyone who wants to just engage with their favorite writers, journalists, and personalities.
If you remember last week, there was a whole issue with Elon blocking Substack links. With that, a lot of journalists and the Twitter Files asshole made it clear that they would be using Twitter less because of it. Substack has given people a great way to share their insight, build an audience, and monetize their writing. I truly find it better and more effective than Patreon and Ko-Fi, although it does give the “buy me a coffee” option.
Anyway, now you have a timeline where people like Asha Rangappa, Jody Vance, Aaron Rupar, Parker Malloy, Dan Rather, Joe Posnanski, Molly Knight, and so many others are writing notes and you can scroll through them, interact, and like just like you did with Twitter. But the difference is you are doing it with trusted sources and people you like. No more having to click on six checkmarks to see if it is the real Ken Klippenstein or getting news from a paid verified BILLY97998989.
I have been waiting for this for a while and while I do enjoy Spoutible, I am going to be honest and say this will be where I will be sharing my thoughts, weight loss, and other items. Twitter is a necessary evil right now, but when I promote and Ebay auction or art, my views get hit more and more. I only get views when I am highlighting an a**hole by telling them to f*ck off, and that does not benefit me in the slightest.
So I am going to start with a smaller audience here and share my thoughts. Going to write more and more. I have not written consistently for nine years because it was easier to Tweet and get instant satisfaction rather that write a thousand words to get four likes.
But now I can share my thoughts throughout the day as well on notes and I am pretty sure if you subscribe to me, then I am on your feed. I am real excited about the things to come.
