It is not Twitter.
There was a time when I would wake up and scroll just to see what horrible politicans wrote. Boebert, Cruz, Trump…it was always the same. They would attack a maginalized group or try to take away rights and I would read up about it, and tell them to f*ck off every single time.
I used to think this was me getting involved in politics. Learning about the good and bad of others, fighting for the good people, and truly focusing on what is right. If you are on social media, you rarely see the good in the world. Okay, you get a cat video. You get a military dad coming home. But everything else is truly rough.
The world is a rough place. But also a beautiful one. It is very very hard to truly see it for what it is. And if you have followed me for the last few months, you know I have changed a lot in my life. I have weeded out a lot of the bad. I do not partake in responding to bad actors on Twitter anymore. Okay, I tell Nick Adams to eat sh*t, but that is a story for another day.
Am I boring? Maybe.
But what I am baffled about is the takes people are taking in general on a lot of world issues. The people who I would be fighting for gave up on me. The people who hated me are trying to fight for me. I hate all of it, honestly.
Israel is the big topic and rightfully so since it has been since the beginning of time. No one should agree that innocent people should die. But no one should side with terrorists. No one should agree that Israel’s leadership is not questionable. No one should agree that Israel does not have the right to defend itself.
No matter what I say, half will agree. Half will not. I grew up a certain way so my view is very one sided and slanted. I will readily agree with this. No innocent person should be murdered. This is also a no brainer.
But what is astounding to me is that the same politicans who I fought for are now basically hating me because of how I was born.
Do not tell me there is another definition for it, because there is not. AOC, Omar, and Tliab are anti-semitic. I used to think it was they were against Israel’s government, but my view on that has changed. Especially since they voted against this.
And it seems like more and more people on the left are feeling this way, and sadly I get it because I grew up being hated for my religion.
A lot of large left accounts are the same. I mean, I cannot nor will I ever look at a Muslim and thing hatred because of Hamas and the Taliban. That is just dumb.
On the other side, the people who support me are the worst people on this planet. Sorry, but I do not need Rubio, Cruz, Boebert, and the Daily Wire staff to pretend like they give a f*ck about me. I just do not.
But because I see this more and more, I see a lot of other things now.
And I realized it is not Twitter. I just lived my life with blinders on.
I would just happily agree with a horrible person because they said “Trump Bad” or “Cruz Sucks”. But that is just stupid. Joe Walsh and Michael Cohen are horrible people. Yet, they seemed to find a way to be heard by the left.
I feel slighted in a way. I spent so many years talking and posting, and just realized whatever I did, my legacy, was absolutely idiotic.
But fighting for what is right is not. Innocent people should not die. Terrorists should not exist. Every Jew is not Benjamin Netanyahu and every Palestinian is not Hamas.
But Twitter is not the place to fight. Online is not either.
Local elections is. This year, I started getting very active locally supporting good people. Online fighting does nothing. Retweeting does nothing. But believing in a platform and wanting the person who agrees with you to make descisions here does.
My views have not changed. I have.
So I want to use this here are more of an outlet. I use twitter for sports cards and fun stuff. I have no desire to retweet or fight for some of the bad actors on the left and all of the bad actors on the right.
And I am saying this because right now, this exact moement, I am the happiest I have ever been in my life. And I want to make a difference.
Politics on Social Media posting is not one of them.
