Okay, let me start off by saying I am popular on Twitter for being a reply guy. Yes, I have done more with my online career which include losing over 200 pounds years ago (and gaining it back), helping a bullied eight year old meet Big Time Rush, I wrote the most popular at the time Huffington Post piece, and was offered a jar of piss instead of Coconut Water.
I have gone viral in Australia three times for different reasons, I have been published over 100 times, I have made and sold over 2,000 art pieces, and I have been verified on Twitter since 2014.
With all that being said, I am a Twitter reply guy. There are a lot of us but most are embarrassed to admit it so they say they do a podcast or they have joined a liberal PAC or they write for an off brand publication so they do not have to admit that they are popular because they replied to popular people.
I get it. But I do not lie. I am popular because I replied to Donald Trump and other shitty people.
I do not have a problem being a reply guy. It is a quality that I have to make someone think about what they said. When I was a kid, I would say the worst things to myself in the mirror. So when people would insult me for being fat or having yucky clothes or being “weird”, it would not matter. Because I would say far worse things about myself.
What would matter is what I would say back. I would not make fun of someone’s appearance. That is lazy. It is a laziness that I have done but never proud of. I would not make fun of someone with a pre condition. I have but again, never proud of. It is just lazy.
What is not lazy is replying to an insult to make the person who made the initial insult look like absolute shit. And that is the goal of the reply on Twitter. To find a hateful and ridiculous tweet and be the first person to call them out so everyone sees it.
Now, there are different replies based on the tweet. Believe it or not, there are really good people who have horrible takes. This is a tricky reply because you do not want to destroy the person yet you want them to realize their take was poor. These are crafted carefully and posted more for the initial tweet to be deleted or to make someone think about what they wrote.
There is the “bring up the past” reply to people. This is a very effective situation when you reply to people like Ted Cruz and Kevin Sorbo. You really cannot shame them, but they hate being called out on hypocrisy. So these generally do well and at least will slow down the original author writing dumb shit.
There is the shaming reply. These I do not enjoy, but when someone who looks like a microwaved cowboy boot insults a good person for their appearance, then they need to take a step back and look in the mirror. These tweets are not effective at all because you are fighting fire with fire, but will give you some satisfaction for five minutes.
There is also the “pretend you agree and then insult” reply. Kyle Rittenhouse is the best example. He is a bad person so it is easy to pretend like I am giving him my New Years goals and then remind him he killed two people with an illegally obtained gun.
But the one that I seem to be known for the most is a simply “Go F*ck Yourself” reply.
Let me start off by saying that as of today, this does not break any Twitter rules. Yes, it is not nice. But it does not break any rules. Now, I am sure you have screen shot somewhere that you got a warning for saying something that is nothing like this but had the word f*ck in it. Okay, I get it. But from what I know, this does not break a rule.
But I use this reply as a last resort. I use this for the worst people possible. I use this because I truly have nothing else to say or want to say and I want you to basically go and f*ck yourself.
I have no desire to argue with people who do not believe in science. I cannot try and reason or explain to someone who truly believes a vaccine that has saved millions of lives does not work. I will not argue with someone who gets angry that someone wears a mask. I refuse to argue with someone who does not believe the LGBTQ community deserves rights, who believe women should not have control of their own body, nor will I argue with someone who continually defends their own bad takes. Skip Bayless and the Daily Wire team are notorious for this.
So instead of getting into a whole day of replies, I simply say go f*ck yourself.
Generally the comments are that I am immature or they look at my profile picture and notice I am fat. Both replies do not bother me because it is why I wrote the comment in the first place.
And I have said go f*ck yourself more and more lately.
I just do not have the desire to argue with Lauren Boebert or Lindsey Graham because what is the point? They are horrible people. And basically for those people, I reserve the right to not be very witty and just to simply say go f*ck yourself.
So there is some thought to it.
I cannot lie, I enjoy replying. It is the best feature of Twitter. And I am hoping that this year, I will have a lot more commentary to share.
But I have a feeling based on how horrible people are, you will see more “Go F*ck Yourself” replies from me.
And sometimes, that is all you can say.
